White Elected to Not-For-Profit Board of Directors

February 21, 2007 (New York, NY) – David M. White, name partner of White & Associates, P.C., was tonight elected to the Board of Directors of the Respect for Law Alliance, Inc., a New York State 501(c)(3) not-for-profit civil corporation.

Founded in 1986, the RFLA’s principal mission is to “promote and cultivate respect for law.”  The group’s core constituency includes federal and state court jurists, retired special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retired and active members of the United States armed forces and attorneys.  Prospective members must be sponsored by a member-in-good-standing and demonstrate a nexus to the practice of law.  RFLA Executive Vice President Richard A. Dienst, Esq. nominated White for Board service.

“David has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to civil service and national security,” Dienst remarked.  “His work with the New York City Police Department’s Hostage Negotiation Team in conjunction with the American Bar Association and the Fordham School of Law has educated students and practitioners alike.  We expect David to bring the same dynamism to the RFLA.”

RFLA promotes community awareness of law enforcement efforts at the national and state levels.  Members participate in monthly breakfast meetings hosted by various agencies.  Recent presentations have included a private session with the Metropolitan Transit Authority and a behind-the-scenes tour of New York’s Grand Central Terminal, as well as a de-classified counter-terrorism briefing delivered by FBI New York Field Office Assistant Director-in-Charge Mark Mershon.

“I am honored to be counted among such select company,” White reflected.  “In the post-9/11 Era, RFLA plays an important role in de-mystifying government action.  I look forward to working with, and learning from, my colleagues in support of our nation’s homeland defense.”
